Sam – Cooktown

Today we went out on the Endeavour River on Robert’s boat.  Firstly we launched the “Sportsfish” and pottered up the river for about 45 minutes.  Then we went fishing and we all caught something.  I caught a log, Dad caught a log and a tree and James caught 2 trees.  After our very (un)successful fishing trip we had a beautiful dinner of butter chicken and rice on the boat.  Then we went croc spotting.  We saw two 1.5m crocs, a 20cm croc and a 5m metre croc that I reckon weighted a least a tonne.

Later when we made it back to the boat ramp we unpacked the essentials, got the boat on the trailer and headed back to the servo to fill up the tank on Sportsfish with petrol.  On the way back we saw dead Taipan on the road.  When we got back everyone was tired because it was late.

See you in 5 months, Sam.

  1. Just as well you had some chicken to butter! Although you could have made some “chips” from the trees you caught! Keep up the good blogs, they are great to read.
