Sam – Gibb River Road

At Lennard river we went to Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge. At Tunnel Creek I saw two fresh water crocodiles and some Aboriginal rock painting. It was sort of spooooooky in there because it was pitch black.  We also saw a four metre python.  At Windjana Gorge I saw some fossils in the rock of seaweed, snakes and other creatures.  It was really hot and you could not swim because of the crocodiles so I was really hot when I finished the walk.

We had a campfire that night and cooked dinner on it. The next morning we stopped at March Fly Glen.  First we set up camp and then we went to Bells Gorge.  We built a walkway across the water from river stones and we had a great time.  The next day we traveled to Manning Gorge.  There was an awesome boat that enabled people to cross the river and most of the time I was the ferryman.

  1. Hi Sam,
Being a Ferryman is a good skill to have. When you next have to travel on a ‘cable’ driven Ferry, you will know how they work.
