After our stay in Cooktown we attempted the Bloomsfield track. The first few climbs were fine but about 7km in Betsy stalled! Dad reversed down and then James, Mum and myself had to get out of the car and dad drained the back water tank. Next dad let the tires down and engaged the center diff lock and on go 2 we got up. After that there were lots of ups and downs and a very zigzagy bridge.
Then we arrived at camp and James and I played on the beach and made a town out of things that we found on the beach such as pieces of coconut, sticks and leaves. We built it above the high tide mark so it was still there in the morning.
Next morning we moved it down the beach so the high tide could make a flood to make things more interesting but before we could set up our town dad called us back to do some homework and I am 20 min into that homework right now.
See you for now, Sam
So pleased to know you are keeping up with your homework, Sam. Cheers, Pa
Hi Sam,
Once upon a time Grandama & I went up that road, and it is very steep.
I see from the picture that Betsy was STUCK!
Other than the drama of sliding on the steep hill, it looks like you are having a lot of fun.
Love Grandpa Geoff
Great sand town boys, I can’t wait til you and James visit again and have fun in the sand at Sawtell! XX Aunty Erika
