At Cloncurry we went to the Curry Merry Muster festival and we met the Lonergans and I played light sabers with James E and James L. After that I went to the Cloncurry Rodeo which was called the “Curry Merry Muster” and it was awesome fun. There were lots of different events such as bare back bronco, steer wrestling, lassoing, bull riding and steer herding. We stayed there for 5 hours.
My favourite event was steer wrestling because the “cowboys” had to slide off their horse and grab the steer by its horns (handlebars) and try to flip it upside down. Some people could do it in !!!3 SECONDS!!!
For dinner that night I had an egg and bacon burger. Later the James’s ganged up on me and chased me but lucky I found a mud puddle and they did not follow.
See ya, Sam
Hi Sam,
Steer wrestling sure is hard work, and if there are no cattleyards, this is the only way to catch them! My brother Andrew (who you saw in Cairns) used to like wrestling his calves and steers on his farm, and he may have told you all about it.
Love Grandpa.
