James – The Southern Forests and Perth

In Denmark we went to the Valley of the giants tree top walk and the ancient Empire walk.  There were lots of tingle trees.  Tingle is an aboriginal word that means red because the trees have red bark.  The tree top walk raised you 40 metres off the ground.DSC_1280

At Brooks Dam campsite we made lots of friends. With our friends we made an awesome tree house.  By the time we were ready to leave the rangers said it was the best child made tree house they had ever seen in their life. It was really fun playing with my friends.DSC_1422

After we left Big Brook Dam Dad climbed the Diamond Tree.  Then we went to a caravan park called Fontys Pool.  There was a really fun playground there because it had a boat with a gear box and steering wheel in it.  We also caught up with friends we had met before.

When we left Fontys pool we went to Bunbury and Busselton and walked along the 2 km jetty and also went to a very hilly lookout which was near a light house. We also watched a rally race near Bunbury and pretty much all of the dust went in our faces. Next we went to Don and Patties and we went kayaking.  We also watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Our next stop was Uncle Craig, Aunty Vanessa, Ben and Josh’s house in Perth.  We went out to Rottnest Island in Uncle Craig’s boat.  The water around Rotto, which is a nick name for Rottnest Island is very clear.  On the way back from Rotto we went squidding and we caught 2 squid.  We played lots of Lego, PlayStation 3 and Wii at their house.

Next we went to Sorrento, which is a suburb in Perth. When we were at, we stayed with relatives that owned a Labradoodle named Sam. It was really fun to play with Sam because he fetched a football but he didn’t give it back, and when Sam and I were playing football, Sam the dog decided to join in too, but then he stole the football. Because we were at Sorrento at Easter, we gave Sam the dog a raw egg and he ate all of it, even the shell! Megan (Daddy’s second cousin) had lots of Harry Potter lego and she let us play with it, which was very fun.

  1. 2H really loved reading about your visit to Brroks dam. Daxton liked the look of your treehouse and Matlida, Lily, Will and most of the class would like to play in the awesome treehouse.
Ava, Toby, Luca and Anya really like the picture of you with the Hamilton South Owl in front of the Rally Car…..
Ms Heagney, Jessica, Sienna, Audrey, Alex and Layla think the water at Rottnest Island looks delightful to swim in. Lucas, Lucy, Rhys and Priya think it would be great to catch squid……
