Geelong

Day 14 – Jan 24 – 1431 km . We left the wonderful generosity and hospitality of my aunt and uncle and headed to Geelong. A car crash (not ours) and a stop at Bunnings for some plumbing fittings (that was fun with a caravan in tow) meant we were delayed arriving at my friend Ian and Michelle’s place in giddy Geelong Heights, but we unpacked and were in the pool with a cold beer in hand in short order (well, me at least). The next day, Ian and Michelle asked us to join them and a dozen of their friends in a ‘One Day Early Australia Day Celebration’. Even though Geelong dealt us ‘four seasons in one day’, excellent company with plenty of good food and booze made for a brilliant day.

  1. We loved Geelong – Mum’s cousin, Molly Saleh, lived there for years with her husband who was a doctor and still practicing in his early eighties – his patients refused to let him retire!!!
