We started to put things in Safe ‘n’ Sound Storage in October. The first cabinet that mum and dad rented was too small so they hat to rent another cabinet. Mum and Dad looked at two but they finally chose one.
Mum and Dad filled the new storage up quite quickly because they had a lot to pack up. Luckily, the house was rented furnished so my parents didn’t have to rent an even bigger storage cabinet.
When we were all packed up and ready to go we started to drive to Sydney to Pa’s house in Westleigh. We had dinner there with Pa, Grandma Sue, Grandpa Geoff, Alison, Ros and Les.
The next day I had cereal for breakfast. Next Alison and Pa said goodbye to us and we departed. Unluckily it was pouring rain for the whole trip to Canberra.
At Canberra we stayed at great Aunty Janet’s house. We also went to Parliament house in Canberra. We went on a tour of Parliament house. I liked the 9×20 meter tapestry the best. If you looked closely you could see a cockatoo and Hailey’s Comet.
Later that day we watched an Asian Cup game. It was South Korea versus Kuwait. Unluckily it was poring rain the whole match and South Korea won. The score was one – nil.
The next morning we went to Wagga Wagga to see Great Aunty Margaret and great-uncle Chris. The dinner that Chris cooked was very yummy. The next day we went on a big bike ride to the lake. After the ride we went to Great Grandma Gladys house and had afternoon tea. Then it was time to go to Tarcutta which took 1 hour.
When we arrived at Great Uncle Robert’s farm called Greenacres we set up the caravan and said “hello” to Robert and Jenny. We stayed at Greenacres for 4 full days and 5 nights. My favourite parts were staying with great Uncle Robert, going out on ute trips and having eggs and sausage for breakfast. I liked playing the LEGO Creationary game after dinner 2 nights in a row.
I also enjoyed the farm dogs. My favourite is Ruby, she is licky and jumpy. I also liked riding on the quad bike.
When we left the farm it was very sad because I didn’t want to leave. We left the farm and drove to Glenrowan. At Glenrowan we firstly went to the Ned Kelly Museum and we saw his death mask and his last words which were “such is life”. We only stayed 1 nigh at Glenrowan.
Now we are traveling to Melbourne. We have just stopped at Seymour but unfortunately the tank museum was closed. We saw Pa’s name on the Vietnam Wall there too, and great-uncle Les’ as well.
So far I have felt excited because I don’t know what’s coming next.
From James.
Hi James,
Good to see holiday is fun and seen many relatives.
I bet the football match was exciting, as would riding the quad bike.
Looking forward to more stories.
Love Grandpa
Hi Grandpa,Thank you very much for being the first one to comment on my blog. And you were right I did think the football match was exciting!
Love James

Hi James
It was good to read about some of your ‘adventures’ so far and see some great photos. It must be fun catching up with family as you go. It is hard to believe that in three sleeps I will be back at school.
Say hello to Sam and mum and dad from me.
Dear Mrs Estens,
I hope that the children at HSPS don’t don’t miss me too much, but I will miss them. I hope you are going to have a great time this year at HSPS.
From James
“Trickle Trickle” log entered this morning…the Ugly Duckling was very curious, there were several Muggles about, so I had to be quite devious!
One lady caught me unawares and asked me what I was doing, but fortunately I was up on the path trying to escape the U.D. She thought I was counting the birds! I explained about Geocaching and then had to wait for her to go all the way down to the bridge, across it and back up the other side before I could replace it!
Thanks again for your visit, we loved having you. We had lasagne for tea and have three small ones in the freezer! Adrienne.
Dear Adrienne
Thank you very much, I will pass it on to Sam.
Bye from James.
Many thanks James for your newsy commentary on your adventures. All sounds very exciting with lots more adventures to come I’m sure!!!
Beaches around Newcastle, including Merewether have been closed for the past 10 days because of sharks in the sea!!!
Happy Australia Day to you and your family.
Love,
Alisonxx
Dear James,
I am very impressed that you wrote such a detailed blog. I’m glad that you and Sam enjoyed your time at the farm so much. I especially liked the photo of you both with Splinter, although it always makes me feel sad to see him as it reminds me of Great Grandpa Stan, who I miss so much. Splinter was his companion and I always think that he must miss him too.
Grandpa Geoff has gone to Camden today in his blue car for an Australia Day parade. What are you doing on Australia day? Something fun I’m sure.
All my love, Grandma
Hi James,
