It’s less than 3 weeks now until our trip actually gets underway, a trip that has been in the pipe line for 10+ years. Amazing. The school holidays are here, I have finished at work and cleared out my locker and Julian has (mostly) finished work (meaning client phone calls on Saturday and Sunday, and work emails from him at 05:30!).
We have tenants for our house arriving from the UK in 3.5 weeks, the 2nd car is almost sold (to a 19 year old all the way from South Hobart), the garage sale is done and dusted (Julian made a whopping $108) and we have filled up one storage unit space already.
Julian is still busy upgrading and ‘fixing’. Latest additions include custom mud flaps/stone guards for the Cruiser (Betsy) and a water pump for the Van (Alice). Other ‘to do’ items are oiling outdoor furniture, pressure cleaning the garden tiles, fixing a soccer ball sized hole in the garage, re-coating the dinner table and painting the privacy screen. Phew!
Let just say we are committed!
Wish us luck – the next few weeks will be hectic indeed.
Very excited (and jealous) for you all. I can’t wait to watch your travels from the office chair. Have a great and safe journey!
Thanks Jo. All I’m wishing for is no major accidents/injuries or major illnesses. Everything else – we’re up for!!
